After opening Mac Mail, in the upper left corner, select Mail and then Preferences from the drop down menu.
On the Accounts screen select the Accounts button at the top and then click on the + button at the bottom left corner.
Fill in the Full Name, Email Address, and Password fields. Click Continue.
For Account Type, select either POP or IMAP (this is user preference), and then fill out the Description, Incoming Mail Server, User Name, and Password fields with the below information. When finished, click Continue.

Note: Outgoing port of 1025 can be used if your service provider blocks port 25.
On the Outgoing Mail Server screen, enter mail.windstreamhosting.com. Make sure to place a checkmark in Use Authentication. For the User Name, use your full email address. Enter your email password and Continue.
An Account Summary screen will appear with all the setting information you just entered. Review the information to make sure everything is correct and then click Create at the bottom.
Your account is now created and you can now try to send and recieve email.
